Hosted by BDV PPP. BigDataStack, I-BiDaaS, Track & Know and Policy Cloud join forces in a series of online demonstrations of innovative Big Data Technologies unlocking the potential of various applications.
Policy Cloud runs four pilot cases in four different EU countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. The Pilots cover complex themes in very different fields and will serve as demonstrators for data-driven policy management and leverage methodologies for user participation from citizens and communities. The results will be evaluated in heterogeneous environments and settings, demonstrating the applicability and re-usability of the developed models and tools in different countries, contexts and sectors.
The EOSC-hub Week will take place (virtually) from 18 - 20 May and will bring together key players in the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). Policy Cloud, after its launch in January this year will be among the projects engaging with the EOSC community.
The Policy Cloud website has been significantly upgraded for the needs of its users. Focusing on a content-rich and easy to use format, all information from the benefits of policy cloud to the services it will provide are available. In order to understand how our services will work in practice, users are provided with a succinct explainer on each of our pilot cases, as well as interviews with the relevant personal in each one.
The COVID-19 pandemic presents a major test for our science system and for our research and data infrastructures. These infrastructures, such as open science clouds and data commons, must serve the needs of science, policy, and humanity not only in ‘normal times’, but also in times of crisis by providing controlled access to quality data in real time and at scale for a range of scientific- and policy-related responses.
The issue of radicalisation is high on the European agenda. Radical groups have been proven very effective in using the Internet as a propaganda medium for supporting radicalization, including the influence and recruitment of younger individuals which tend to be less resistant to propaganda.
EBDVF2020 will take place between Tuesday November 3rd and Thursday November 5th in the conference center KOSMOS in Berlin Karl-Marx-Allee and online. Policy Cloud will be presented in the Parallel Session on Smart government: co-creating services with the use of AI and Data on Thursday 5 November from 15:45 to 16:45 CET along with two other projects DUET and URBANITE.
