New Scientific Paper Published on Knowledge Discovery in Databases

An academic paper covering some of the work on Policy Cloud by partner University of Piraeus has been published by IEEE after being presented at the 12th International Conference on Information and Communication Systems (ICICS 2021).

The paper responds to the contemporary problem of organisations having too much data to process, thereby losing the valuable information therein. It suggests Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) is a possible aid to these organisations. 

It also suggests that the way that data is collected, preprocessed, and integrated with each other is extremely important, considering its heterogeneous and diverse nature and format. 

The paper proposes a generalized KDD approach, which in essence constitutes a supplement of all the existing approaches that study and analyse the data mining aspect of the KDD process. The prototype of the proposed approach provides an example of the developed mechanism, explaining in deep detail its phases, verifying its possible wide applicability and adoption in various scenarios.
